Rebels Open Home Slate With Red & Blue Classic

?> OXFORD – The Ole Miss softball team will open its home schedule on Friday, as the Rebels host the fourth annual Red & Blue Classic at the Ole Miss Softball Complex. The Rebels open their home slate with matchups against Centenary at 10 a.m. and Murray State at 4 p.m. on Friday. The Rebels will welcome a total of three non-conference teams to Oxford - Centenary, Murray State and Southern Illinois-Edwardsville - for the round-robin affair. A total of 10 games will be played, with four games coming Friday and Saturday and the final two on Sunday. Ole Miss enters the weekend with a 6-4 record on the season after winning three games at the FAU Kickoff Classic last weekend. The Rebels posted a pair of wins over Maryland and also knocked off Pittsburgh. Senior Amber Tramp leads the Rebels with a .467 batting average on the season and has a team-high eight RBI. Junior Lindsey Perry holds a 2-0 record in the circle, while transfer Brittany Barnhill has a 2-1 mark with a team-low 3.20 ERA. Centenary enters the Classic with a 1-3 record on the year, while SIU-Edwardsville is 2-7 on the season. Murray State, who is in its inaugural season of softball, has not played a game yet. The Rebels have only played one team in the tournament field, holding a 1-0 mark against Centenary. It will be Ole Miss' first meeting against both Murray State and Southern Illinois-Edwardsville.
