The RiverKings announced that forwards Kevin Jarman and Adam Smyth have been sent to the Arizona Sundogs for future considerations. The trade was completed prior to Monday’s 3 p.m. (CST) trade deadline, but could not be officially announced until now.

Earlier yesterday, Mississippi forward Matt Pierce was dealt to the Texas Brahmas in exchange for forward Elias Godoy.

Smyth played in 103 games over the past two seasons with Mississippi, scoring 12 goals and earning 24 points along with 464 penalty minutes. This season, Smyth scored two goals for five points and 193 penalty minutes.

Heading into Feb. 9 action, Smyth was second in the Central Hockey League for penalty minutes and led the league in major penalties with 19.

Jarman played in 36 games with the RiverKings this season, scoring four goals and earning 13 points. Jarman also netted 34 penalty minutes. Two of his goals have come on the power play.

Both Smyth and Jarman played for RiverKings coach Kevin “Killer” Kaminski during the 2007-08 CHL season with the Youngstown SteelHounds.

Smyth joined Kaminski to Mississippi when Kaminski took over as RiverKings coach in 2008. Jarman did not play last season as he was recovering from an injury.
