Mississippi won its second straight game against Wicihita, and now heads to Colorado for a two-game weekend set against the Eagles on Friday and Saturday nights. The trip ends in Missouri next Tuesday.

The first period saw three goals scored, all on the power play. Wichita opened the period on a power play goal from Paul Kelly, who scored his 18th goal of the year at 7:40 with Darrell Stoddard in the box for hooking.

But, the RiverKings answered less than a minute later at 8:37 when Held scored his team-leading 22nd goal of the year, assisted by Stoddard and Louis Dumont. Held scored his seventh of the season on the goal past Wichita goaltender, and former RiverKings goalie, Ian Keserich.

Mississippi took the lead on another power play goal, this time from Summers, who netted his tenth goal and second power play goal of the year at 9:55. The tally was assisted by Elias Godoy and Bobby Chaumont, as the RiverKings took a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes of play.

The RiverKings added to the lead in the second period, on goals from Landmesser, Held and Summers.

Landmesser scored on a blast from inside the blue line at 2:42 for a 3-1 lead, assisted by Tyler Doherty and Bobby Chaumont. That would become the eventual game-winning goal for the RiverKings. The goal was Landmesser's ninth of the year and fourth game-winning goal.

Held scored his second goal of the night on a power play tally from Dumont and Andrew Lackner at 8:47. The goal gave Held 23 for the season and was his seventh power play goal.

Summers next deflected a shot taken by Nathan Schwartzbauer for a goal at 15:01. Chaumont also earned an assist on the goal, which was Summers’ 11^th of the season and his second power play marker.

The goal would drive Keserich from the crease, who was replaced by Scott Campbell for the remainder of the game for the Thunder. In the third period, Kelly would score again for Wichita on the power play for the final score.

Goaltender Tim Boron (3-5-2) won his second straight game against his former mates with a two-goal, 16 save performance for the RiverKings, now 24-20-6 for the year and in fourth place in the CHL Northern Conference.

Keserich was tagged with the loss, stopping 23-of-28 shots on net as his record fell to 3-13-2. Campbell was a perfect 14-of-14 in the crease when he replaced Keserich in the second period.

The RiverKings scored three times in six power play chances, while Wichita was two-for-five on the man advantage.

With the victory, the RiverKings now have a two-game winning streak and are in sole possession of fourth place in the conference standings, moving ahead of fifth-place Tulsa. The Oilers play at Missouri on Thursday night.
