Strome Waived by RiverKings

SOUTHAVEN --- The Mississippi RiverKings of the Central Hockey League have announced that forward Anders Strome has been waived.

Strome, 28, was claimed off waivers earlier in the regular season by the RiverKings after being released by the Texas Brahmas.

The Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, native scored five goals and had six points in 12 games with the Brahmas, but with the RiverKings scored only three goals and had five points in 17 games.

One of his three goals with the RiverKings was a game-winning goal. All of his points came in a five-game stretch between Jan.15 against Missouri and Jan. 26 against Rapid City.

Mississippi will next be in action on Friday, Feb. 12, when the RiverKings start a two-game weekend road trip at Tulsa.

The next home game for the RiverKings will come on Sunday, Feb. 14, at 3:05 p.m., when Mississippi hosts the Wichita Thunder.  It's Pink in the Rink Night with special jerseys to be auctioned off and a post-game skate to follow the game.

The American Cancer Society and breast cancer awareness is being spotlighted during the game.
