Sibbald Leaves RiverKings
SOUTHAVEN --- Mississippi RiverKings head coach and director of hockey operations Kevin “Killer” Kaminski announced on Feb. 26 that goaltender Mark Sibbald has decided to leave the team, effective immediately.Kaminski said Sibbald expressed a desire to return to his previous team in Huntsville of the Southern Professional Hockey League. “He came in and talked to me and said he was not having fun,” said Kaminski. “I guess if he thinks that the route he needs to take to get better or get to a higher level, then I guess ‘good for him’.” Sibbald was 5-4-1 in his time in Mississippi, posting a 3.18 goals against average and a save percentage of .882. He started with a five-game winning streak, but had gone 0-4-1 in his last five decisions. Sibbald is a native of Ridgeway, Ontario, Canada, who also played briefly with Laredo in the Central Hockey League along with his time in Huntsville this season. The RiverKings will use an emergency back-up goaltender as Kaminski seeks a replacement for Sibbald. |
