Newest Bulldogs Work in First Practice of 2010 Season?>
August 3, 2010
STARKVILLE – The newest members of the Mississippi State football family were among the first of the 2010 team to hit the practice fields here on Tuesday morning. The first split-squad practice featured all of the newcomers, along with several upperclassmen leading the way. A total of 53 players worked out, with the remaining 52 scheduled to hit the practice fields this afternoon. “We wanted to get the younger guys out here with the older players in a smaller group to let the new guys learn from guys that have played before,” head coach Dan Mullen said. “There was a lot of teaching today, both by the coaches and the older guys. It was a good first day of work.” The group of Bulldogs that practiced this morning will have the remainder of the afternoon out of the sun as they attend study hall to prepare for summer term finals. The afternoon practice group spent part of the morning in the classroom and will hit the fields at 4 p.m. Mullen will give the team tomorrow off before conducting a full-squad workout at 6 p.m. on Thursday. All practices through Friday are open to the public. |
