Football Sets Spring Practice Dates

STARKVILLE – The 2010 Mississippi State football team will hit the practice fields for the first time on March 23 and will work the NCAA maximum 15 times through late March and mid-April, head football coach Dan Mullen announced Feb. 22.

The Bulldogs will hold their annual Maroon-White Spring Game on April 17 at 5 p.m. as part of Super Bulldog Weekend.

“We’re excited to get back to work,” Mullen said. “We have a bunch of players that have been around here for a year, so they know what to expect and we’ll hit the ground running on the first day.”

Mississippi State returns 50 letter winners, including 23 apiece on offense and defense and four specialists. The offense will welcome back seven starters while the defense returns eight.

After the opening practice on Tuesday, March 23, State will work on Thursday (March 25) and Saturday (March 27). For the following three weeks, practices will be held on each Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

All practices leading up to the Maroon-White Spring Game will be held at the Shira Complex Practice Fields and will be open to members of the Bulldog Club and students currently enrolled at Mississippi State.
