Bulldogs Return to Practice Fields; Students Sell Out Season Tickets Allotment

August 24, 2010

STARKVILLE – Head coach Dan Mullen brought his team out to its familiar practice location adjacent to the Holliman Athletic Center on Tuesday afternoon for its first practice on the Shira Complex Fields in 17 days.

The Bulldogs worked out for the first time since a Saturday afternoon session in the Palmeiro Center, and picked up right where they left off.

“We worked on some situations again today,” Mullen said. “We’ve got to get ready to play in less than two weeks, so we need to make sure we’re ready in all facets of the game.”

After a stretch at the South Farm intramural fields during training camp, the Bulldogs sandwiched practices in the Palmeiro Center around a scrimmage at Davis Wade Stadium last week. So Tuesday marked a return to routine.

Also on Tuesday, Mississippi State athletic department officials announced students had sold out their 11,000 season ticket allotment, the quickest sellout in school history.

“I’m really pleased with the effort our students gave to go out and sell out the entire allotment in just over one day,” Mullen said. “The excitement around campus is great and we’re ready to get them all to Davis Wade Stadium on Sept. 4.”

The Bulldogs kickoff their 2010 campaign next Saturday against Memphis at Davis Wade Stadium at 6 p.m., and the game will be televised nationally on ESPNU.
