Bulldogs Return to Work After First Full Scrimmage?>
August 21, 2010
STARKVILLE – Head football coach Dan Mullen put his team through a Saturday workout after Friday night’s scrimmage of more than 100 plays, and the head coach was pleased with what he saw in both. “We started a little slow last night, but we picked it up in the middle,” Mullen said. “Watched the film this morning and the thing with scrimmages is if the defense is doing well, the offense needs to improve and if the offense is doing well, the defense needs to improve. Every play it’s either one or the other.” While the full-scale scrimmage at Davis Wade Stadium incorporated nearly every in-game situation, today’s practice in shoulder pads and helmets focused mainly on passing when the team worked as a full unit. The Bulldogs will be away from the practice fields tomorrow and Monday before returning to the Shira Complex fields on Tuesday afternoon. The team continues its preparations for the season opener against Memphis on Saturday, Sept. 4 at 6 p.m. |
