Dogs Close Two-a-Days, Set to Visit Farm One Final Time?>
August 16, 2010
STARKVILLE – With a final whistle late in the evening on South Farm, Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen and his 2010 Bulldogs ended the two-a-day portion of their preseason preparations. “The tough physical preparation for the season, the summer workouts and the two-a-day practices, are done,” Mullen said. “But we still have a lot of work to do. After we have a scrimmage Friday night, that will separate the training camp from game preparations after that. You’re two weeks out from the game, so we have to start getting ready to play at that point.” The Bulldogs have practiced 16 times this preseason, just over midway through the NCAA-allowed 29 total practices before the first game. The team will work at its training camp location on South Farm for the final time Tuesday before taking Wednesday, the first day of classes, off. On Thursday, the team will return to the Shira Complex Practice Fields and begin its familiar routine of afternoon practice sessions. Mississippi State opens its season on Sept. 4 against Memphis. The game will kick off at 6 p.m. and be televised nationally on ESPNU. |
