LaGrange, GA (August 14, 2010)…Former Austin Peay State golfer Grant Leaver (Centerville, TN) and former Clemson University golfer Matt Hendrix (Greenville, SC) will enter the final round of the Chattahoochee Hospice Classic at Overlook Golf Links tied for the lead at 15-under par 198.

Leaver, who began the day in first place, started off slowly in the third round with four pars over his first four holes. He then moved to two-under on the day after birdies on holes five and seven but made the turn at even par after back to back bogies on holes eight and nine.

Once he made the turn, Leaver found the groove that had him in the lead after two rounds. He birdies holes ten, eleven, twelve and sixteen to post a four-under par 67 in the third round.

While Leaver was off to a slow start, Hendrix was red hot on Saturday. Hendrix, a former All-American and member of the 2003 National Championship team at Clemson, started off with two birdies on his opening nine and then continued his hot hand with five birdies on his back nine to post a seven-under par 64 to vault up the leader board to a tie with Leaver at 15-under par 201.

Brent Witcher (Atlanta) and Andrew Lanahan (Jacksonville, FL) will begin the final round trailing Leaver and Hendrix by one stroke after they finished three rounds at 14-under par 199. Both Witcher and Lanahan carded matching five-under par 66’s Saturday.

LaGrange’s Taylor Hall carded a four-under par 67 Saturday and leads the local players in the Chattahoochee Hospice Classic that made the cut. He now stands at four-under par 209 heading into Sunday’s final round.

Overlook Golf Links owner Grant Cagle (LaGrange) struggled on Saturday with a five-over par 76 and now stands at four-over par 217.

Round four will begin at 7:30 a.m. Sunday morning with the leaders teeing off number one at 9:40.

The total purse for The Chattahoochee Hospice Classic is $200,000 with $30,000 going to the winner.
