Mississippi State Band to Visit DeSoto County

The Mississippi State University Marching Band comes to DeSoto County on Tuesday, Sept. 21. 

They will be performing that night for the DeSoto County Band Directors Association and many county school students at DeSoto Central High School.

The DeSoto Dawgs booster club is attempting to raise enough money to cover the cost of band members’ meals, which they could eat on the ride back to Starkville.

Approximately $1,000 in donations is needed, with $200 received to date.

The DeSoto Dawgs Board of Directors feel this is a great opportunity, not only for

the club to show its support to the university, but for the students and parents of

Desoto County to see what a "top-notch" marching band looks like. These kids are coming here to perform on their own time and money just to show these high school students what to shoot for.
