U of M Reply

July 18 ,2010

By John Mayo (D., DeSoto County)

Mississippi House of Representatives

I get back a lot of replies--some of them serious, some of them funny, some, well, some are unprintable....

Up until now Ellis Darby of Tunica led the pack in sarcastic, witty, tongue-in-cheek replies to my misprints, faux pas, and noun-verb agreements.  But, Ellis....Karr West who lives a few blocks from me has them all beat...and this one was just too funny to keep.

In reply to "U of M Dirt Diggers" he writes:

John,

I was wondering why you didn't come see me or at least send a card while I was in the hospital after my terrible accident.

After reading your e-mail where such kind comments were made about Ole Miss, referred to I believe by you as the "University of Mississippi," I fell from the shock of your kind remarks and hit my head on the concrete.

I have been unconscious since. No one knew why I had fallen.  After I came to early this morning, the nurse was questioning me about the events that led up to my fall. I told her it was due to the kind remarks of a Mississippi State grad.

Her comments were, "Don't get too excited, Mr. West.  John will probably have Ole Miss investigated now for grave robbing!"
