I want to wish you and your family a safe and happy 4th of July.  It seems like just yesterday that I spoke at the TEA Party Rally on the courthouse lawn in Hernando, but it has already been a year.

One thing that has not changed since my speech a year ago is that Americans are still fed up with government at all levels for taxing us too much, spending too much, and placing huge public debt burdens on the backs of our children and grandchildren.  We must not sit by idly, but let’s stay in the fight and have our voices heard.

As we celebrate America’s freedom this weekend, let us remember the words of Benjamin Franklin when asked at the close of the Constitutional Convention of 1787 if we have a monarchy or a republic: “We have a republic, if we can keep it.”

Thank you for your time in helping make Mississippi the greatest state in our land.  May God continue to bless the United States of America!
