Jersey Boys

February 7, 2010

By John Mayo

I know a lot of people who have seen this musical multiple times.  Now, I know why.

WHAT A SHOW!!!!!!!

This is the story of the trials, tribulations, and triumphs of the FOUR SEASONS from

New Jersey to the top of the charts.  What a story, what singing, "Oh what a night, late December 1963.  What a very special time for me."

I saved for months to get tickets, bought them in early December...We were front row, center stage.  I felt like I wanted to be a teenager again and climb up on the stage to be in the group.  The girls, the choreography, the girls, the music, the story, the girls, the songs.  "Walk like a man, walk like a man, walk like a man, my son."

I'd like to go on, and on and on.  But, I am going to be like some of my friends...I am in for another.

Besides singing Four Seasons'  songs all the way home, I found a new sense of pride in being born in the projects in Baltimore, Md...and leaving them.  Problem was, we did not learn until years later they were city housing projects (own school and

everything).

"Jersey Boys" is in the middle of a three week run at the Orpheum in Memphis.  Did I

tell you this had a GREAT story and MUSIC?

Movie...Leap Year

A light romantic comedy...far better than that last one I reviewed.  This one actually had a good story, was funny, and while a predictable ending, was worth the wait.
