OBPD Makes Early Morning Felony Arrests

The Olive Branch Police Department is investigating an early morning home invasion burglary that occurred at approximately 2 a.m., Feb. 23, in the 10000 block of Palmer Dr.

“One suspect was armed with a handgun and another suspect was armed with a baseball bat,” said Major Tim Presley of the OBPD Criminal Investigations Division. “The suspects fled in a Chevy Avalanche. There was no forced entry to the home as they were acquaintances of one of the residents.”
All five suspects were apprehended by OBPD shortly thereafter and charged with Burglary of a Dwelling House-Home Invasion. Arrested were Leighann Ingle, 18, Ashley Calhoun, 18, Chance Holland, 17, Dylan Vandyke, 17, and Matthew Shackelton, 17, of Olive Branch. All five are charged as adults in the crime.

During a physical altercation with the victims at the residence, Chance Holland received minor injuries. All five suspects are each being held under a $50,000 bond at the DeSoto County Jail pending a March 2 court date.
