OBPD Crime Watch Notes - Incidents Reported Wednesday, Aug. 4?>
11777 - Burglary of Commercial Building - United Rentals @ 8263 Frontage Rd. - 12:31 a.m. OBPD officers responded to a burglar alarm and found that the front glass door had been busted out. A K-9 unit cleared the building without finding any suspects. At the time of report nothing appeared to be missing. The suspect(s) may have fled when the alarm went off.
11785 - DUI 3rd / False ID Information – Hwy. 78 @ Hwy. 305 - 3:36 a.m. An OBPD officer stopped a Mitsubishi Montero on Hwy. 78 for erratic driving. Investigation showed the 22-year-old driver apparently was under the influence of Alcohol and marijuana. The driver gave a name with turned out to be a false identity. The driver had two prior DUI’s so she was charged for Felony D.U.I. 3rd and her vehicle was seized by law pending court action.
11788 - Burglary of an Auto - Lazer Towing @ 5250 Hacks Cross - 7:12 a.m. The victim said that he had towed a truck to the business from Hwy. 302 and Malone to his lot at approximately 2:30 p.m. When he arrived at his lot he left the unlocked truck on the wrecker. He came outside this morning to back the truck off the wrecker and saw that it had been burglarized. He stated that the stereo, a Dual Mount CD player and two Dual Mount six-and-a-half-inch speakers were taken.
11791- Auto Burglary / Grand Larceny – Hwy. 78 at the east bound rest area - 8:05 a.m. An OBPD officer responded to 4740 Bethel Road, the Flying J Travel Plaza, for a theft report. The 65-year-old complainant said that he was parked in the eastbound U.S. Hwy. 78 rest area from Sunday night (Aug. 1) at around 11 p.m. until Monday morning (Aug. 2) at around 4:30 a.m. He said that during this time, unknown person(s) cut the seals from the rear doors of his trailer. He had been asleep in the truck and did not know the trailer had been broken into until he was in Alabama and another trucker on the highway flagged him down. The complainant said that 94 cases of ground beef chuck rolls were stolen from the trailer. He advised that the cases weigh about 100 lbs. each with a total loss of around $17,000.
11794 - Motor Vehicle Theft - Plantation Apts. @ 9305 State Line Rd. - 9:33 a.m. A 51-year-old victim said that when he went outside this morning he discovered that his blue 2004 Dodge Caravan displaying MS tag DEX 245 was missing from the parking area outside his apartment. The victim said he last saw his vehicle on Aug. 2 and had locked the vehicle then.
11803 - Burglary of an Auto - 9800 Block of Chris Dr -12:40 p.m. A 22-year-old victim came to the OBPD and reported that someone had stolen items from his pickup truck. The vehicle is a 1998 Ford Ranger. He said that at approximately 4 a.m. he heard an audible alarm coming from his vehicle. He then reset his burglar alarm without noticing anything unusual. The next morning he discovered the rear window on his truck open and his 12 inch Pioneer speaker and his Sony Explode 1000 watt amplifier missing from his vehicle.
11806 - Burglary of an Auto - 5200 Block of Mary Lane N. -12:53 p.m. A 46-year-old victim stated that she parked her Lincoln MKX in the driveway this morning at 12:30 a.m. and left it unlocked. She stated that she came outside this morning and realized that it had been burglarized. The items taken were a Silver Fossil watch, estimated value $120, a white gold watch with a square face, estimated value $200, Ann Cline sunglasses, estimated value $70, and a Kodak ZX1 Pocket Video Camera, pink, serial number KCZKY913H3943, estimated value $130. The total amount stolen was $520. The victim stated that all the items taken were in the center console.
11822 - Identity Theft - 6000 Block of Morgan Dr.- 5:44 p.m. A 54-year-old victim reported someone ordered a computer modem or drive that hooks to a computer system and accesses the Internet. She advised that the suspect that ordered this device used her father’s personal information such as Social Security number, address and phone number. The victim said her father passed away two years ago and there is no way he or anyone else at the residence would order this device. She advised that there has never been a computer at this residence and they have no use for that device. The order was placed on July 29, 2010, and arrived at her front door at approximately 6 p.m. on Monday, August 2, 2010.
11840 - Burglary of an Auto - Hampton Inn @ 6830 Crumpler Blvd. - 10:30 p.m. A 59-year-old victim reported the back glass was broken out from her 2010 Volkswagen and a suitcase was stolen containing some of her clothes along with some medical documents from her job.
OBPD officers also made arrests for Fugitive from Justice (one), Suspended Driver’s License (two), Possession of Paraphernalia (three) and Tattooing a Person Under 18 years old (one). |
