OBPD Crime Watch Notes Reported Wednesday, Aug. 25?>
13025 - Malicious Mischief - 4600 Block of Tacoma Place - 10:20 a.m. A real estate agent reported that a home for sale had been damaged. Three windows were found to be broken and a wall in a closet had been damaged. Damage was estimated to be around $1,000.
13029 - Credit Card Use to Defraud - Kroger @ 7427 Goodman Rd. - 11:30 a.m. A 73-year-old female who lost her debit card on July 24, 2010, noticed later that someone had been using her card for a total of $220.59 for purchases at the Olive Branch Kroger. She has since cancelled the card.
13039 - Credit Card Use to Defraud - 9300 Block of Cottonwood Dr. - 1:20 p.m. A 73-year-old female received a call from her bank and her credit union questioning purchases made with her card number at Target stores in California and at a Chevron station on Aug. 24. Her card was not missing or stolen and she has not been to California. The total charges at the Target Stores were $571.46.
13045 - Grand Larceny - The Vineyard Apartments @ 9400 Goodman Rd. - 4:09 p.m. A 40-year-old victim reported that while away he had acquaintances staying at his apartment. He noticed upon returning that a ring, cash and tools were missing. The ring was valued at $289, the cash amounted to $300 and the tools $1407.
13048 - Credit Card Use to Defraud - The Vineyard Apartments, 9400 Goodman Rd. - 4:41 p.m. A 25-year-old victim filed a report due to suspected fraud on his checking account. He had been contacted by his bank regarding 20 charges to his account totaling $2481.54, making it overdrawn. His debit card was not stolen or missing. Charges to his account had been made in London, England.
13059 - Credit Card Use to Defraud - 10000 Block of Paul Coleman Dr. - 6:47 p.m. A 40-year-old victim reported that three transactions in New York had been made on her account without her knowledge. Two additional transactions totaled $1700 but were only attempted and did not go through. She had used her card in April at Jason's Deli in Memphis as other victims have reported.
OBPD officers also made arrests for No Proof of Insurance (two), Contempt of Court (two), Driving under the Influence of Alcohol (one), Suspended Dirver’s License (three), Possession of Paraphernalia (one) and Seat Belt Violation (one).
