OBPD Crime Watch Notes - Incidents Reported Tuesday, Aug. 24?>
12957 - Grand Larceny - Silvercreek Construction Site @ 6573 Crumpler - 8:17 a.m. A job site superintendent reported six spools of insulated copper wire had been stolen from the site in the last 24 hours. The spools of wire were described as two 2,500 ft. spools of eight-gauge stranded and insulated copper wire, and four spools of 2,500 ft 10-gauge stranded and insulated copper wire. The total cost of the wire was estimated at $2,965.
12958 - Burglary of an Auto - CTA Auto & Repair @ 7140 Hwy. 178 - 8:18 a.m. A company representative reported that sometime during the night someone stole the car stereo from a customer’s GMC Sierra pickup that was on the lot. The truck had been left unlocked. The suspect also tried to steal the truck by tampering with the ignition switch, but was unsuccessful.
12974 - Embezzlement - WalMart @ 7950 Craft Goodman Frontage Rd. - 1:21 p.m. Wal-Mart Loss Prevention reported that an employee had stolen a bicycle and merchandise valued for a total of $398. The 20-year-old male was placed into custody.
12987 - Malicious Mischief - Hair Works @ 8813 Goodman Rd. - 5:30 p.m. A company representative reported that three chairs had slash marks in them from what appeared to be a sharp object. The chairs were in an area of the shop that had not been used in a few days.
12998 - Shoplifting - WalMart @ 7950 Craft Goodman Frontage Rd. - 8:10 p.m. Wal-Mart Loss Prevention reported that a female had used the self-checkout line without scanning numerous items and had attempted to leave the store without paying for apple juice, Cokes, Dr. Pepper, etc. The 26-year-old female was charged with shoplifting.
13006 - Malicious Mischief - 10500 Block of Lafayette Dr. - 11:54 p.m. A 26-year-old victim reported someone broke her window glass on the driver side of her Ford Ranger. She said she parked her vehicle on the street in front of her residence around 1130 p.m. and it occurred after that.
OBPD officers also made arrests for No Driver’s License (one), Suspended Driver’s License (one), Contempt of Court (six) and Domestic Violence (one).
