Crime Watch Notes Reported Monday, Aug. 23

12896 - Simple Assault - IHOP @ 7768 Craft Goodman Frontage Rd. - 2:05 a.m.

A 19-year-old victim reported that a male entered his place of employment, confronted him and then pushed him into a booth.  The suspect was believed to be a roommate of a fellow employee.

12904 - Malicious Mischief - Candlelite Mobile Estates @ 8544 Caroma - 3 a.m.

A 31-year-old female reported that two of her tires had been slashed.  She last saw the tires without damage at 8 p.m. on Sunday.  She believes an acquaintance may have done the damage.

12914 - Attempted Robbery - Kroger @ 7427 Goodman Rd. - 11:47 a.m.

A 34-year-old female stated that she was in the cookie aisle at Kroger when a tall, slender black male wearing a red shirt attempted to take her purse (or items from her purse) that was being held on her shoulder by the purse strap. She kept her hands clamped to the shopping cart to resist the theft.  The suspect left the store in an unknown direction. 

12920 - Auto Burglary - 7400 Block of Woodland Dr. 12 p.m.

A 17-year-old victim reported that his Chevrolet Blazer had been burglarized.  Items stolen were an amplifier, speakers, work boots, a touch screen radio and a tool set, with a total value of $577. The vehicle was unlocked at the time of the theft.

12921 - Petit Larceny - WalMart @ 7950 Craft Goodman Frontage Rd. - 1:49 p.m.

An 80-year-old victim reported her wallet may have been stolen while she was shopping at Walmart between 11:15 a.m. and noon.  Her wallet contained her driver’s license, various other ID's, numerous credit cards, a Regions checkbook and $60 in cash. 

12923 - Credit Card Use to Defraud - 4600 Block of Bell Forest Cove - 2:04 p.m.

A 23-year-old victim reported that her debit card had been used fraudulently.  The fraudulent purchases were at a WalMart in Pennsylvania for $56.69 and at a KMart for $425.  The victim's boss had told her that his credit card number was used fraudulently as well. Both of them said they had just used their cards at the same deli in Memphis before the fraud occurred. 

12925 - Embezzlement - AT&T Store @ 5070 Goodman Rd. Ste. 115 - 2:25 p.m.

The manager reported that nine blue tooth headsets were missing from the store.  She suspects employee theft. 

12936 - Simple Assault - Plantation Apartments @ 9305 Stateline Rd. - 6:20 p.m.

A 14-year-old victim said he was assaulted by a group of juveniles as he walked towards his apartment. They began to punch him, and broke his cell phone and watch.  His eye appeared to be swollen.  No witnesses were found.  The group is believed to have come from a neighborhood right across the state line.  The Shelby County Sheriff"s Office is helping to locate the juvenile suspects.

Officers also made arrests for Seat Belt Violation (two) and Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol (two).
