OBPD Crime Watch Notes - Incidents Reported Monday, Aug. 2?>
11644 - Uttering Forged or Altered Instrument - Kroger Store @ 7427 Goodman Rd. - 9:15 a.m. Kroger management reported two checks being altered that were used for transactions. On Aug.1, two checks were used to purchase Visa and MasterCard gift cards. The checks were written on a Regions Bank account. Check # 9903 was used to purchase Angel Soft bath tissue, a $100 Visa gift card and a $25 MasterCard gift card, with the total transaction being $142.38. Check # 9904 was used to purchase Bounty paper towels, a $100 Visa gift card and a $25 MasterCard gift card, with the total transaction being $145.59. The checks were altered by erasing one of the numbers from the account number and writing in a different number.
11646 - Uttering Forgery - Regions Bank @ 8975 Goodman Rd. - 9:19 a.m. Regions Bank security filed a report with the OBPD and advised that a female came into the Regions Bank located at 8975 Goodman Road in Olive Branch on the morning of July 26 and passed a forged check at that location. The instrument in question was a check from a Mid-South Law Firm for the amount of $3,834.81. A MS ID card was presented with the check, with a subject’s information. Bank security also said that this female also passed forged checks in Southaven and Horn Lake.
11661 - Burglary of a Dwelling - 9800 Block of Michael Lee Cv. - 2:18 p.m. A 30-year-old victim reported that she received a phone call while on her way home from work that someone was inside her residence and police had been called. Her neighbor said she noticed the window screen on the front eastern corner of the residence lying on the ground and the window was partially open. A witness saw the suspects exiting the residence through a window and then saw the two suspects leave the area on bicycles. The victim discovered the following items missing from the residence: a PSP GO (350) and an IPOD ($100). The 14-year-old and 15-year-old male juveniles were identified by the witness and were placed into custody.
