OBPD Crime Watch Notes - Incidents Reported Tuesday, Aug. 10?>
12131 - Shoplifting - Super America @ 4949 Bethel Rd - 10:04 a.m. A store employee reported that a male came into the store and asked for two cartons of Newport soft pack cigarettes and two cartons of Kool soft pack cigarettes. He handed the complainant a credit card and when she ran it through the machine it told her the card was over the limit. He then handed her another credit card and it was declined as well. He then grabbed the cartons and told her he would pay for them the next time he was in the store and ran out the door. She described the suspect as a black male approximately 5-7 weighing about 170 lbs. He was wearing a red shirt and red pants, and had a shaved head. He had a scar above his upper lip on the left side of his mouth. He then got into his vehicle, a red 1999 Mercedes E class four-door with a MS tag. The suspect went eastbound on Hwy. 78. The total value of the items stolen is $175.96.
12145 - Motor Vehicle Theft - Wal-Mart @ 7950 Craft Goodman Frontage Rd - 2:30 p.m. The 27-year-old victim stated she got to work this morning at approx. 5 a.m. She walked out to the parking lot around 2 p.m. and her white Buick Century was gone. According to surveillance video, the suspect was a male black who had on a dark shirt, dark pants and white shoes. Video showed the suspect on foot coming from the area of the O'Charleys Restaurant at 12:48 p.m. The suspect broke into the passenger side of the car, then went into the store. At 1:24 p.m. he went back to the car and stole the vehicle. The vehicle was parked by the grocery side of the building.
12154 - Credit Card Fraud - Synnex Corporation @ 10381 State Line Rd - 3:55 p.m. The 34-year-old victim reported that sometime between the hours of 7:52 a.m. and 12:25 p.m., her Visa debit card was stolen from her purse while at her place of employment. She said that she notified the bank of the missing card and found that numerous transactions had taken place in Tennessee.
OBPD officers also made arrests for Contempt of Court (two), Domestic Violence (two), Suspended Driver’s License (one) and Violation of Probation (one). |
