OBPD Crime Watch Notes - Incidents Reported Saturday, July 31?>
11530 - Shoplifting 2nd Offense – Wal-Mart @ 7950 Craft-Goodman Rd. - 10:40 a.m. Wal-Mart loss prevention agents reported a suspect found a receipt on the ground in front of the store and went into the business and put items in a Wal-Mart bag and exited the store. The suspect then waited outside for several minutes then returned to the store and attempted to get money back for these items. Items included toothpaste, body wash and ladies shoes. This had occurred on July 29 but was later found when agents reviewed video. This same 49-year-old suspect had been arrested on July 29 for shoplifting at Wal-Mart in another incident but now faces additional charges.
11531 - Shoplifting/Simple Assault – Dollar General @ 10956 Nichols Blvd. -10:44 a.m. OBPD received a report of a shoplifter at the Dollar General who had assaulted the manager. The manager noticed a black male subject who appeared to be in his late twenties or early 30’s approximately six-two and weighing approximately 150 Ibs., (wearing a red baseball cap, red t-shirt and blue jeans). She approached the male subject to ask if he needed a cart for the items he had in his hand and the subject cursed at her and pushed her into a wall and ran out of the business. She advised he got into a blue Oldsmobile with a TN tag and drove off heading north bound on Hacks Cross Rd. The total value of items taken was $95. Stolen items included: Qty. 4 Axe Dark Temp body wash, Qty. 4 Axe Phoenix body wash, Qty. 4 Dial Spring Valley body wash, Qty. 5 Olay Shea Butter body wash, Qty. 4 Olay Age Defying body wash, Qty. 4 Olay Quench body wash, and Qty. 5 Olay Cream Ribbon body wash.
11543 – Shoplifting – Wal-Mart @ 7950 Craft-Goodman Rd. - 2:51 p.m. OBPD was dispatched to Wal-Mart in regards to a shoplifting in progress. Loss prevention advised that an unknown black male and female came into the store and purchased a CD boombox @ $29.88, RV 3 PACK @ $20 and a1.7 BD refrigerator @ $69, totaling $127.20. One of the suspects re-entered the store and picked up new identical items into a cart and attempted leave with a second set without paying for them. Upon realizing they were being followed by loss prevention the suspects left the items in the cart and fled at a high rate of speed in a white Chevrolet Malibu with a drive-out tag.
OBPD officers also made arrests for Driving under the Influence (one).
