OBPD Crime Watch Notes - Incident Reported Monday, July 26 ?>
11269 - Petit Larceny - 9700 Block Dogwood Ct. West - 7:52 p.m. A 31-year-old male reported a black male, approximately 13-15 years old and wearing a red shirt and dark blue shorts, took his son’s bicycle, a gold Mongoose Hoop D Extreme Air, valued at approximately $100, from their residence. He stated the bicycle was sitting a few feet from the front door of the residence and he was in the house when he saw the black male grab the bike and take off. The homeowner stated he then got onto his four-wheeler and began to chase the suspect who eventually jumped off of the bike and took off on foot. He stated the suspect jumped fences, running down the street where he jumped into a gold Saturn displaying a MS tag and was driven away.
11272 - Petit Larceny – YMCA @ 8555 Goodman Rd. - 8:09 p.m. A 20-year-old victim reported that she came to the Olive Branch YMCA and entered the ladies locker room around 6:50 p.m. She said she placed her belongings into a locker. The victim advised at around 8 p.m. she returned to the locker to get her belongings and realized that she was missing $109 from her wallet. She did not place a padlock on the locker.
11273 - Aggravated Assault – Annandale Apartments @ 10862 Nichols Blvd. - 8:40 p.m. OBPD received a call of a gunshot heard at the Annandale Apartments. Witnesses said a suspect got into a argument with some tenants and threatened to return and shoot everyone. A short time later, a shot was heard in front of the building and the suspect was seen running away. After investigation the .380 caliber weapon was discovered in the bushes. The 18-year-old suspect, Calvin Cobbins, who resides in Annandale was placed into custody. No one was injured in the incident. Bond was set at $4,400 for the Aggravated Assault charge by Judge Ken Adams. Sgt. Gregg Correll is handling the case.
OBPD officers also made arrests for Possession of Marijuana (two), Domestic Violence (two), Fugitive from Justice (one) and Contempt of Court (one).
