OBPD Crime Watch Notes - Incidents Reported Wednesday, Feb. 3

 

01579-Harrasing Phone calls- 9000 block of Goodman Road 6 a.m.
Victim filed a report with OBPD in regards to numerous phone calls she is receiving from her ex-husband. She stated she has received over 22 calls to her cell phone and work phone.

01586-Fraud/Simple Assault- Sandidge Hill Apts. at 7830 Sandidge Rd. W. - 9:24 a.m.
Victim contacted the OBPD to file a report in regards to a tenant living in one of the apartments. She stated the tenant had provided fraudulent paperwork to the Apartment Complex to obtain Assistance through HUD benefits. When confronted with this the tenant became angry throwing mail at the victim and knocking over a chair.

01588- Embezzlement- Eagle One Logistics at 8890 Deerfield Dr. - 9:44 a.m.
Complainant reported to officers that he loaned a credit card to one of his employees to purchase fuel to and it hasn’t been returned. He advised there were numerous unauthorized purchases made on the card.

01590- Public drunk/Curfew Violation – Amanda Dr. @ Goodman Road-10:10 a.m.
A 16-year-old juvenile was riding as a passenger in a vehicle when stopped by OBPD officers for being under the influence of marijuana and for Curfew Violation (not in school). Subject was released to his father after receiving a juvenile summons arrest.

01592-Petit larceny- Olive Branch High School @ 9366 Sandidge Road E. - 11:37 a.m.
A complainant reported to OBPD School resource officers that his daughter had her I Phone stolen out of her bag while she was at the high school gym. School resource officers are reviewing security video for potential suspects.

01604-Shoplifting- Wal-Mart @ 7950 Craft-Goodman - 2:49 p.m.
OBPD officers responded to Wal-Mart in regards to a shoplifting in progress. Loss prevention from Wal-Mart tried to stop a shoplifter who fled the store on foot to a waiting car. Responding officers stopped the suspect in a vehicle which had left the scene. The suspect was taken into custody along with the driver, who had an outstanding warrant through DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office. All merchandise was recovered.

01605- Credit Card Fraud- Teeco Equipment Repair @ 8375 Industrial Dr. - 3:03 p.m.
Complainant reported that unknown subjects had used their business credit card to pay for a Sprint Cell Phone account.

01612- Shoplifting - Wal-Mart (7950 Craft-Goodman-Frontage Rd.)- 5:57 p.m.
OBPD patrolling officers were flagged down by Wal-Mart loss prevention officers who had a Shoplifter in custody. The suspect was stopped for attempting to steal DVD’s. Suspect was placed into custody (several small children were with the suspect at the time of arrest).

01625- Fugitive from Justice-Sparrow Run and Brittany Lane- 7:45 p.m.
OBPD officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic offense and two occupants of the vehicle had outstanding warrants from other agencies. Suspects were placed into custody and transported to the OBPD.

01626/01630/01632- Prostitution- Local Hotel in Olive Branch – between 9 p.m. & 11p.m.
OBPD Street Crime Detectives conducted a sting operation and arrested three subjects for Prostitution at a local hotel. Detectives saw three separate Internet ads for the Memphis/Olive Branch area that indicated sex in exchange for money and called the numbers and set up the rendezvous at an Olive Branch hotel. A 35-year-old male (posing as a female) of Memphis, a 25-year-old male (posing as a female) of Olive Branch and a 21-year-old female of Olive Branch were all arrested in separate stings after arriving at a hotel room and making deals to exchange sexual favors for money.

OBPD officers also made three arrests for suspended Drivers license, two arrests for No driver’s license, and one arrest for DUI 1st.
