Press Release - January 14, 2010 The Olive Branch Police Department is investigating an early morning home invasion robbery that occurred at approximately 5 a.m. on Jan. 14 in the 6000 block of Morgan Dr. “An 18-year-old female was awakened by a suspect holding an object to her neck,” said Major Tim Presley of the OBPD Criminal Investigation Division. “The victim screamed out and struggled with the suspects but was subdued. “The female's grandparents were asleep in another room and said they heard a loud noise and screaming,” he continued. “They jumped up out of bed to be confronted by the intruders.” There were at least three male black suspects that came into the home by kicking in the front door, Presley said. One of the suspects was armed with a black pistol. All suspects had some type of mask or at least partial facial covering. The suspects appeared to be in their 20's and were wearing:
Suspect No. 1 - a white hoodie and black pants Suspect No. 2 - a white hoodie with a purple toboggan type winter hat with a bib on the hat Suspect No. 3 - black coveralls with a black ski mask hat
“The three victims were forced to one room of the house where the robbers demanded cash, jewelry and guns,” Presley added. “The robbers took the victim's red 2004 Mazda RX-8 when they fled, along with jewelry, cash, XBox 360, three handguns, cell phones, wallet, purse and credit cards. The victims were not injured.” The Mazda was found with damage about 45 minutes later at the end of Nail Road on the Wedgewood Golf Course. One of the victim's credit cards was used shortly after the robbery in the Hickory Hill area of Memphis. The suspects may be involved as well in a robbery of an individual that occurred around 4:30 a.m. the same morning in the Winchester/Ross Rd. area of Hickory Hill. Please call OBPD detectives at 662-895-4111 if you have any information on this crime or you can report a tip anonymously at www.obms.us/crimetips or text message a tip anonymously to CRIMES (274637) and put in keyword “obpd” at the beginning of your crime tip message. |
