BOLO for Theft Suspects: Can You Help OBPD by Identifying this White Pickup??>
August 20, 2010
By Major Tim Presley Criminal Investigations Division
The Olive Branch Police Department has taken several reports this month of exhaust catalytic converters being stolen from under parked vehicles. The suspects are most likely taking the converters to metal scrap yards to get cash. The extended cab white pickup seen in these video stills, which appears to be a GMC Sonoma, is a vehicle of interest to us. There appears to be two suspects involved. While one suspect acts as lookout, the other suspect crawls under the vehicle and removes the converter. It took eight minutes to take the converter because the suspects jump back in their own truck every time someone gets close on the parking lot. This theft occurred between 3:03-3:11 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 18, on the Target parking lot. Detective Ronnie Flanigan is the lead investigator on the case. Please call Desoto County Crimestoppers at 662-429-TIPS if you have any information about this crime or you can report a crime tip anonymously at www.obms.us/crimetips or text message a tip anonymously to CRIMES (274637) and make sure to type in keyword “obpd” at the beginning of your crime tip message. Incident No. 12620 - Petit Larceny - Target Store @ 5150 Goodman Rd. - Report taken on Wednesday, Aug. 18 A 50-year-old victim reported that her catalytic converter was stolen from under her Toyota Tacoma pickup while she was at work. She believes the theft happened around 3 p.m. |
