OBPD Arrests Two Suspects for Auto Burglary?>
August 27, 2010
The Olive Branch Police Department has arrested two suspects in an Auto Burglary that occurred on Aug. 22 in the 10100 block of Oak Run Drive South. A 27-year-old victim reported that during the night her debit card had been stolen from her purse while it was in her unlocked vehicle. The debit card was then used at the Red Box at Walgreen's on Hacks Cross Rd. in Memphis at 4:45 a.m., and then at the Shell Gas station on Church Rd. in Southaven a short time later. Detectives reviewed surveillance video from the fraudulent credit card use and developed two male suspects in a burgundy Pontiac Grand Am with no hub caps. Detectives gave that information to our Street Crimes Unit to be on the lookout for the vehicle. On Wednesday, Aug. 25, at 8:56 p.m., OBPD Street Crimes agents spotted a Grand Am matching the suspects’ vehicle traveling on Hack Cross Rd. The vehicle was stopped and after further investigation Brandon W. Freeman, 22, of Southaven, and Jacob T. Walker, 22, of Olive Branch, were charged with Conspiracy to Commit a Felony Crime and Auto Burglary. Judge Ken Adams set bond at $15,555 each on the suspects and they were transported to the DeSoto County Jail. A court date has been set for Sept. 23. The suspects remain under investigation for other recent auto burglaries in the Magnolia area. Additional charges may be forthcoming. Detective Craig Dickson is the lead investigator on the case.
