The Olive Branch Mayor and Board of Aldermen took one more step into the electronic age Tuesday night as they began using a new voting machine at their Aug. 17 meeting. Board members are able to vote either for or against a particular item, push a button and have their vote automatically recorded by computer. When all the board members have voted, city clerk Judy Herrington then posts the individual results on two large viewing screens so guests can see how each alderman voted. In the past, items were decided by either a voice vote or a polling of the board. (Photo by Jamie Mercer)
