Miss UA Competition Held at Bama Theatre

 

TUSCALOOSA Ala. – Fourteen contestants, including one from DeSoto County, competed in the 2010 Miss University of Alabama Pageant on Saturday, Feb. 20, at the Bama Theatre in downtown Tuscaloosa.

The 2010 Miss UA contestants and their hometowns include Martinique Gideon, Huntsville; Kristi Kelly, Cincinnati, Ohio; Brittany Powers, Cullman; Hannah Muncher, Jasper; Shellie Street, Mobile; Carly Evans, Prattville; Brooke Johnson, Northport; Shawntae Johnson, Demopolis; Lisa Ledbetter, Decatur; Ashley Wieronski, Southaven;

Melissa Lilly, Pinson; Hilary Rubin-Holloway, Panama City, Fla.; Lori Kerr, Clay Mallory Meissner, Tuscaloosa.

With the reputation of being one of the most competitive Miss Alabama preliminary programs in the state, the Miss UA program features private interview, swimsuit/physical fitness, talent, evening wear and on stage question.

The Miss UA Program is an official preliminary pageant for the Miss Alabama and Miss America Organizations. This year’s winner, Shellie Street, will go on to represent UA at the Miss Alabama Pageant in Birmingham in June. Additionally, she will receive a full-tuition scholarship for her year of service.

Wieronski was named second runner-up and also won the talent competition.
