Southaven Chamber of Commerce News

The Southaven Chamber of Commerce announced the recipients of its annual awards at the Chamber’s annual meeting and awards luncheon. The 2009 honorees are: Business of the Year: Sam’s Club, Woman of the Year: Kristi Faulkner – assistant to Mayor Greg Davis, Man of the Year: Paul Wardlaw, Ambassador of the Year: Pete Bacon and Spirit of Main Street Award: State Farm – Barry Bouchillon.

The chamber also announced new board members for 2009-2010.  The new board members include Angie Brazil, Bancorp South, David Delgado, Delgado Law Firm, Kim Knop, Chartwell Properties, Peter Felsenthal, Whitmor, James McIngvale, Skinner & McIngvale, CPA, Stuart Taylor, DeSoto Civic Center, and Blake Weaver, NICS (Network of International Christian Schools). 

Officers are Ryan England, State Farm Insurance, Ford Moore, Community Bank, and Chuck Roberts, Chuck Roberts Real Estate.  Other board members include Mark Brannon, Brannon Professionals and Brannon Builders, Donnie Chambliss, Chambliss Builders, Brad Evans, Atmos, and Mark Sorrell, City of Southaven.

The chamber will host a luncheon meeting on Healthcare and Health Insurance for Southaven chamber members.  Lindsay Buford of ChamberPlus and Doug Henley of Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi will discuss the condition of today’s healthcare and how you can save money on health insurance even if you have only one employee. 

The meeting will be held on Nov. 10 from noon – 1 p.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott, located at 7225 Sleepyhollow Drive in Southaven.  There is no charge but reservations are required.  Space is limited.  Contact Ginger Adams at 662-342-6114.
