Katie Hardeman (left) played Ernestina, while both Hilary Jasmin (center) and Emma Wilson (right) played Dolly in Hello Dolly! at SBEC last spring. The three 2010 graduates who were very involved in the theatre department at SBEC have continued their love for the stage in college. Freshmen Hardeman, Jasmin and Wilson have been selected for lead roles in You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, to be performed on the Northwest Mississippi Community College stage in Senatobia on Oct. 27, 29 and 30 at 7 p.m., and Oct. 31 at 2 p.m. Hardeman will play the part of Lucy, Jasmin will appear as Sally and Wilson has been selected to play Snoopy. “Over 150 students tried out for the six parts,” Jasmin said. “We were honored and excited to be chosen for parts in the play.” Last spring, all three graduates appeared in Hello Dolly! Hardeman played the eccentric Ernestina, while Jasmin and Wilson shared the role of Dolly. Judy DeFrehn, director of the theatre department at SBEC, commented on the accomplishments of the three graduates. “How exciting it is for me to see my students go on to the college level and use their talents there as well,” DeFrehn said. “I am extremely proud of these talented young ladies and can’t wait to see them perform on the college stage.” (Courtesy photos)?>
