Amber Ray

 

Ray Crowned Miss Delta State University

 

CLEVELAND - Following an afternoon and night of competition, a panel of judges voted to crown Amber Ray Miss Delta State University 2010. Ray, 21, is an elementary education major from Hernando.

For her talent, she performed Debussy's "Pour le Piano Prelude #2."  Ray's platform is, "Establishing a Healthy Lifestyle among our Youth."

In addition to the crown, Ray was also awarded the Career Services Interview Award. As Miss Delta State University, she will compete in the Miss Mississippi Pageant in Vicksburg this July. She is the daughter of Rebecca and Charles Minor of Hernando.

Ray's mother, Rebecca Minor Ray, originally of Horn Lake, was Miss Delta State University 1984.

Rebecca Bailey, a graphic design major from Pearl, received the first alternate award.

The Miss Delta State University Pageant, produced by the University Pageant Board, a Delta State student organization, and sponsored by the Student Government Association, was held in the Bologna Performing Arts Center located on the Delta State campus.
