State Senator Alan Nunnelee took time out of his schedule to speak informally to seniors at SBEC on Monday, Aug. 30. He began his brief presentation by commenting, “I am very encouraged by the youth of today.” He then discussed some wide-ranging topics and answered questions from the students. Later, he mingled and talked with the students. Toward the end of his presentation, he challenged the students to get involved with the political process. He said, “One of my missions is to help high school students understand the significance of helping lead your country. We live in a nation in which we can select our political leadership. We must insure that young people get involved with the public sector. We all must know who the politicians are that represent us and hold them accountable.” Pictured with Nunnelee (above) are Amy Katherine Rieves (left) of Memphis and Preston Weathers (right) of Nesbit.
