Northwest Continuing Education to Present CEU Classes in March

Several different continuing education classes will be offered in March, according to Patricia Lowder, coordinator of Northwest Mississippi Community College’s Division of Continuing Education. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be available. Word Processing I Using Microsoft Word 2003 (1.5 CEUs) will be offered Tuesday/Thursday, March 2–23, from 5 – 8 p.m., at the WIN Job Center in Tunica. Microsoft Word is the most widely used word processing program. In this class, students will learn the most important topics of Microsoft Word and will be taken through step-by-step instructions. This class is designed to teach students how to create, edit, and format professional documents such as memos, fax covers sheets, business letters and announcements. The instructor for this class is Dianne Daley. There is a $105 fee, $90 class fee and $15 book fee. The deadline to register is Wednesday, Feb. 17. Microsoft Word (1.5 CEUs) will be taught Mondays, March 22 – April 26, from 6 –8:30 p.m., in the Tunica Building, Room 130 on the Senatobia campus. In this class, students will learn how to use the many functions in Microsoft Word. Some of the things that will be taught will be mail merge, working with charts, tables, columns and graphics, editing and proofreading, and using templates from Microsoft’s website. Helen Williamson will teach this class. The fee is $105, book included. The deadline to register is Monday, March 8. Williamson will also teach Power Up with PowerPoint (1.5 CEUs) on Thursdays, March 25 – May 6, from 6 – 8:30 p.m., in the Tunica Building, Room 130 on the Senatobia campus. Participants will learn to quickly and efficiently develop dynamic, professional-looking presentations and then deliver them to an audience. They will be taught step-by-step how to combine text, graphics and visual special effects on presentation slides. This class is for everyone, including business people, educators and trainers.
