Students Return to Northwest Campus in Preparation for Fall Semester

Students and instructors are returning to the campuses at Northwest Mississippi

Community College as summer comes to an end. The fall 2010 semester begins on Aug. 16.

On the Senatobia campus, percussion and color guard camps are underway, and band students will report for their annual band camp on Aug. 5.

Academic division directors on the Senatobia campus and career and technical faculty at all locations report to work Aug. 2, while academic faculty will return on Aug. 9.

Open registration for day classes (for students who have not previously registered) will be held on Aug. 12-13 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on all campuses. Evening school registration will be held on Aug. 10-11 from 4:30 p.m.-7 p.m. on all campuses.

Pre-registered students who have not completed the registration process and paid fees must do so on Aug. 10-11. Classes begin Aug. 16.

Late registration will be held Aug. 16-20. Residence halls open for registered students Aug. 11 at 9 a.m.

Tuition for full-time students is $975 per semester. For full-time out-of-state students, there is an additional fee of $1,000. Cost per semester hour is $85 for part-time in-state students and $165 for part-time out-of-state students.

As of July 28 all dorms were full, and there is a waiting list.

Courses will also be offered through Northwest’s eLearning Division. This fall the college will offer approximately 130 courses on-line. To learn more about Northwest’s

The annual “Meet the Rangers” night will be on Aug. 26 at 6:30 p.m. at Bobby Franklin Field in Ranger Stadium. The first home football game is Sept. 9 at 6:30 p.m. when the Rangers take on East Central at Franklin Field.

The Ranger and Lady Ranger soccer teams’ first home game against Gulf Coast will be Sept. 8 on the Northwest soccer field. The women’s game will begin at 1 p.m. and the men’s game starts at 3 p.m.
