NWCC Theatre Department Announces Cast for Spring Production

The cast has been named for Northwest Mississippi Community College’s spring production of “West Side Story,” according to Jo Ellen Logan, director of the play. Cast members playing the Jets are Derek Preusch of Memphis as Tony, Ryan Marshall of Senatobia, J.C. Martin of Senatobia, Drew Carlton of Olive Branch, Win Vance of Clarksdale, Josh Simmons of Coffeeville, Daniel Diller of Senatobia, Oliver Harrison of Senatobia and Kristopher Lilly of Horn Lake. Playing their girls are Brittany Hill of Walls, Caroline Harris of Southaven, Christine Garner of Horn Lake, Murphy Judd of Horn Lake, Michelle Hughes of Hernando, Meagan Woodard of Southaven and Tabitha Turner of Batesville. Cast members playing the Sharks are Anthony Guy of Olive Branch as Bernardo, Casey Davis of Olive Branch, Cody Reynolds of Southaven, Eric Abraham Jr. of Memphis, Dameon Danford of Olive Branch and Jeffery Hanger of Greenville. Playing their girls are Abby Sewell of Walls as Maria, Keke Rockette of Water Valley, Lauren Fore of Senatobia, Audrey Harris of Byhalia, Briana Patton of Como, Stephanie Child of Southaven and Allison Wroblewski of Southaven. Other cast members include Lindsey Belton of Olive Branch as Glad Hand and Lloyd Dixon of Batesville as Krupke. Coby Anderson of Hernando will perform the child solo and Shug Stroble of Senatobia will perform as the child dancer. Musical director of the show will be Susanne VanDyke. Tiffany Harrison of Senatobia will serve as choreographer. “West Side Story” was a book by Arthur Laurents that was later made into a musical. The musical’s plot is based on William Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet,” but takes place in the mid-1950s. Performance dates for the play are Thursday–Saturday, March 4-6, at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday–Sunday, March 6-7, at 2:30 p.m., in the Fine Arts Auditorium on the Senatobia campus.
