The Northwest Mississippi Community College Foundation will award 336 scholarships, a total of $226,000, to Mississippi students for the 2010-11 academic year. In the past five years, the Foundation has awarded $1.2 million in scholarships.  "These scholarships are a result of the generosity of friends and supporters of Northwest," said Foundation director Sybil Canon. "This is an investment into the lives of students who will generate returns in being able to gain higher-paying jobs, which not only benefits their families but the communities in which they live."
