Several different continuing education classes will be offered in February, according to Patricia Lowder, coordinator of Northwest Mississippi Community College’s Division of Continuing Education.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be available. These classes will all be held on the Senatobia campus.

Basic Computer (1.5 CEUs) will be offered Mondays, Feb. 1 - March 8, from 6 - 8:30 p.m., in the Tunica Building, Room 130. This class, which is taught by Helen Williamson, is designed for adults who have little or no previous computer experience.

General computer use and terminology will be taught as participants learn the basic skills in using Windows Vista. The fee for the class is $105, book included. The deadline to register for this class is Monday, Jan. 25.

Williamson will also teach Microsoft Excel (1.5 CEUs) on Thursdays, Feb. 4 – March 11, from 6 - 8:30 p.m., in the Tunica Building, Room 130. Using Microsoft Excel 2007, students will learn to organize and analyze numeric data, write formulas, use formatting commands and develop well-designed worksheets. The fee for this class is $105, book included. The deadline to register for this class is Jan. 25.

The Division of Continuing Education is also offering Face-to-Face with Facebook Workshop on Saturday, Feb. 6, from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m., in the Tunica Building, Room 130.

Facebook is an online networking website that allows users to create their own profiles and link to and view the profiles of others. This workshop will teach people how to do this safely.

Participants will have fun as they learn how to connect and share with people in their life. They will also learn how to create groups and learn how to use them to their advantage. The fee for this workshop is $45, book included. The deadline to register is Tuesday, Jan. 26.
