Meet The Rangers Set For Aug. 26

Plans are underway for an exciting evening as Northwest Mississippi Community College hosts its annual “Meet the Rangers” night on Thursday, Aug. 26, at 6:30 p.m. The event will be held on Bobby Franklin Field in Ranger Stadium on the Senatobia campus, and admission is free, according to Cameron Blount, director of Athletics and Intramurals/Recreation manager. “We want to invite the entire community to this event,”?said Blount. “It is going to be an opportunity for everyone to meet our players, coaching staff, cheerleaders and band in a fun atmosphere.” Players, coaching staff and cheerleaders will be introduced that evening. The cheerleaders, Rangerettes and Ranger Marching Band will also be performing. The band’s halftime show will feature music by Queen. Head coach Ricky Woods; Jack Wright, offensive coordinator; Jim Jones, offensive line coach; Andy Greening, defensive coordinator/linebackers coach; Lesley Jordan, defensive line coach; Trenell Edwards, defensive backs coach; Scott Oakley, wide receivers coach; and Danny Ray Cole, strength coach, will be leading the Rangers football team this season. The Rangers will take on Pearl River Community?College in their season opener on Thursday, Sept. 2, at 7 p.m. in Poplarville. The first Rangers home game is set for Thursday, Sept. 9, at 6:30 p.m. against East Central Mississippi Community College. “We need everybody to come out and show the Rangers their support,” said Blount. Homecoming for Northwest alumni and friends will be celebrated Saturday, Oct. 16, as the Rangers take on Mississippi Delta Community College. |
