New Lions Club member Jon Bragg poses for a photo shortly after his induction with his sponsor, Benny Flynn, and Hernando Lions president Larry Sowell, at the first Lions Club meeting of the month at Café 51 in Hernando (the group meets the second and fourth Tuesday of each month). The Hernando Lions are concentrating this year on doubling their volunteer efforts and contributions in the community by recruiting new members. In addition to serving as "knights of the blind," the Hernando Lions work to contribute to various worthy charities, from high school bands and scholarships to the House of Grace women's shelter and animal rescue groups.
